After my own running exploits of the weekend, today was always intended to be a little bit more relaxed than normal. It did start with IT woes, but by the time we got started, at least my GPS watch knew what day of the week it was, which was already a big improvement in the day!
15 runners joined me today including one new member to the group. The weather behaved itself too, waiting until we were firmly in the cafe before any rain fell. I’d love to think it was the power of the Tuesday Run Group doing that, but it clearly didn’t translate when 4 of us were running in Anglesey……!
We took a nice steady jog around the millpond and waited at the top of the drive to regroup. I decided that we should get in an early hill and from there went straight up the side of Cage Hill to join the main track along the top. I don’t think this hill was greeted with as much enthusiasm from everyone else. Still everyone made it to the Cage.
There was a lot more enthusiasm in the ‘going downhill’ bit! At least this week the paths seemed to have dried out a bit.
Once we’d regrouped near admissions we headed out along Red Lane towards the reservoir, just for a little change. And a minor hill that nobody noticed. We returned the way we came and passed admissions as we continued along Red Lane until we got to the gate into Elmerhurst Wood.
A pleasant little run then through the Wood all the way back to the Timber Yard cafe.
